The first photography survey of the Museum's collection in more than a decade, the exhibition showcases the history and artistic development of contemporary photography. Brought to Light features 30 works from the 19th through the 21st century. New acquisitions that have joined the core collection illuminate historic figures and also point to the future. With images by artists such as Peter Henry Emerson, Laura Gilpin, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and Irving Penn, as well as Chris McCaw and Lewis deSoto, the beauty of the medium and its embrace of aesthetic, social, and conceptual concerns moves from the darkroom to the digital in this exhibition.
