The Exhibition Chamonix of Yesteryear in 3D is running in Chamonix, France until 29 March 2015. This exhibition is dedicated to stereoscopy of the Alps and features the photos of Ferrier, Bisson, Braun, Tairraz, Savioz, Couttet, William England. For the first time ever, Jacques Henri Lartigue's intimate views of his honeymoon in Chamonix are exhibited in their full 3D glory. The impact of mass tourism and global warming is highlighted by these Victorian views of pastoral village life and mighty glaciers reaching the valley floor. Climb Mont Blanc with alpinists of the epoque, admire the ladies in crinolines crossing crevasses and early skiers on their long wooden planks balancing on a single pole. Featuring stereoscopic images from the 1850s to the present day, this exhibition has something for everyone.
