Event Description

IWM London's next IWM Contemporary exhibition will feature Nick Danziger's Eleven Women Facing War, an exhibition of photographs and film which tells the stories of eleven women's experience of contemporary conflict. 

Danziger photographed eleven women from Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Colombia, the Balkans, Israel and the Palestinian territories.  International Committee of the Red Cross study in 2001. Ten years later, he set out to find each one and learn what had become of their lives.  The exhibition, which is free, will run concurrently with IWML's highly praised Lee Miller:  A Woman's War, allowing visitors to compare women's experience of conflict today with that of the Second World War.
