Professor Paul Hill has said on his website "Ifor Thomas was an inspiring teacher who taught many well-known practitioners of the period and must be mentioned in any forum discussing British Photographic Education."
The late Professor John Hedgecoe wrote "I've known 4 great men in my life and Ifor Thomas was one of them ... also Robin Darwin, Jocelyn Stephens and Henry Moore."
