Celebration of the first century of photography in France with vintage photographs using a variety of techniques and on all sorts of subjects.
Michael Diemar, gallery director of Diemar/Noble Photography, London, surveys 100 years of French photography. He has spent three years collecting the material, which includes works by Raoul Ubac and Man Ray, and which records key moments in French history, with, for example, images taken in 1899 of Captain Alfred Dreyfus as he travelled from Devil’s Island for his retrial.
