Street Level Editions Print Launch
'Little Sparta: Portrait of a Garden'
Thursday 15th November, 6.30pm
Street Level Photoworks are delighted to launch ‘Little Sparta: Portrait of a Garden’, a set of limited edition prints by award winning Scottish photographer Robin Gillanders. For over ten years Robin photographed Little Sparta, the acclaimed garden and home of the late poet and artist Ian Hamilton Finlay, as well as working collaboratively together on a number of photographic works.
Join us for the launch where Robin will give an introductory talk on the edition and his relationship with Finlay followed by a drinks reception.
A selection of prints from this series are in the permanent collection of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, which in 1998 held a landmark exhibition ‘Little Sparta’ featuring photographs from this series along with the photographic collaborations between the two artists.
For this Street Level Edition Robin has produced a set of six silver gelatin prints from the series, each in a signed limited edition of eight and hand printed by the artist at his darkroom in Edinburgh.
Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity and is priced at £500 or £50 per month interest free with Own Art.
