Hello everybody!
I am a historian doing research on photographs at the turn of the 20th century, and I need your help.
I am looking for any collections of photographs from the period of about 1860-1920 taken with a hidden camera or by an amateur photographer. Do any of you know of photos like this, either in private collections or public archives, in Britain or the rest of Europe?
The types of photos I am interested in are those that reveal something of everyday life or life in the lower classes at this time. Any suggestions are welcome!
Best wishes
Peter

A couple of items from my private, rather eclectic collection may be of interest if you are still researching this.
This is a collection of ca 1895 early film negatives taken on a Freno No. 1 camera charting a family's travels across Europe. A few candids amongst them - https://www.flickr.com/photos/whatsthatpicture/sets/72157660885943542
This is an Edwardian album from a family in Essex full of interesting candids - https://www.flickr.com/photos/whatsthatpicture/albums/7215762862507...
I have lots more individual examples, but they're not so easy to link to!
Hello there, I have rather a few photographs from my collection that should fit this theme. Take a look at these Victorain Negatives as they are a good start as theirs lots of images of relaxed Victorians having fun and laughing:
