DATAR

Hello everyone, Well I have just joined the group, so I send you all my greetings. I also have a request that I hope someone may be able to help me with. I am in the closing stages of an MA by Research looking at 'alternative' approaches to photographing architecture. I have tried to locate the two books that were published by the DATAR (Délégation à l’aménagement du territoire et à l’action régionale) project, set up by Bernard Latarjet and François Hers. The two books are: Paysages Photgraphies, la mission photographique de la DATAR, Paris : Editions Hazan, 1985 Paysages Photgraphies, en France les annees quatre-vingt , Paris : Editions Hazan, 1989 I have been informed by the British Library that there are no copies of these in the UK for loan! So my initial request is to see if anyone knows where I could possibly get access to see these two books. Best regards Dave Cowlard

  • Hi Dave

I was wondering if the text of  "Photourbanism: Documentary Photography and Urban Thinking" is available online? I tried Kingston's library site but there is only a physical copy there. My own research has progressed a lot - I have about a year to go before submission. The explanation of what I'm doing is summarised here -

    Hi Dave
Sorry I can't help with the book search, but I would be interested in the results of your research - I am currently exploring possible topics for a PhD and architectural photography (visual representation and perception of architecture) is one of those possibilities.

    Derek
  • Hans,

Thanks. I haven't been here for a while so sorry for the very late reply. My thesis is done now... sealed and delivered... but I do really want to see the books at some time. The next time I'm in Rotterdam I will arrange to come and have a look.

    All the best

    Dave
