I'm working on a project about the pioneer Birmingham photographer George Shaw, who, it's sometimes claimed, made the first daguerreotype in the city. I am keen to establish details of Shaw's networks amongst C19th photographers and scientists. I'm particularly interested in his work with Dr John Pecry MD. Shaw was elected a member of the Photographic Society in 1853 and became President of the Birmingham Photographic Society in 1857. Any sitings of references etc would be most welcome.
