Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history
I'm working on a project about the pioneer Birmingham photographer George Shaw, who, it's sometimes claimed, made the first daguerreotype in the city. I am keen to establish details of Shaw's networks amongst C19th photographers and scientists. I'm particularly interested in his work with Dr John Pecry MD. Shaw was elected a member of the Photographic Society in 1853 and became President of the Birmingham Photographic Society in 1857. Any sitings of references etc would be most welcome.
Thanks

I've included an index of hits in my database. It will take some time to extract them. There is an early history of photography in Birmingham included here.
Let me know if any of this looks like something of value. I can dig out extracts.
