On it’s way to me is a Houghton Ensign Timber and brass hall plate camera. It was sold by Harrington’s in Australia . I am keen to get more information about this marque and type. I have found some links already.
Been thinking about a wooden tripod to suit but very expensive it seems.
Hoping for information about the camera etc.

Hi,
Looking at the Wood and Brass website.
I'd take a guess at a Hougton Triple Vitco.

Let us know when it arrives.

Thanks Paul for your kind replies to my query.

The other organisation which may have someone looking into Houghton cameras is here: https://www.pccgb.net/members_research.html
Some company history here: http://www.earlyphotography.co.uk/site/companies1.html#H The info says that Ensign was registered as a trademark in 1902. You might like to look at the Sanderson models here: http://www.earlyphotography.co.uk/site/entry_C473.html Tripods vary in price and can be found quite cheaply at auctions but shipping can be expensive.
