British photographic history

Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history

The term Street Photography has broadened over the years to include a number of sub-genres of photograpy. However, I assume the term was originally coined to describe the work of Winogrand et al. in 1960s New York.

Does anyone actually know when the term Street Photography was first applied and to whom or what and by whom.

Your thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated

Thanks

Brian
