Baron Louis-Adolphe Humbert de Molard: Man at River's Edge

Paper negative, 7-1/16 x 9-1/2 in. (179 x 241 mm), 1848c/1848c, unmounted. #11953. A very important paper negative by Humbert de Molard (occasionally spelt Mollard), a pioneer of French photography whose photographic works are some of the most difficult to find. Any work by this photographer outside of institutions is exceedingly rare. See: Prestige de La Photo, Nov. 1978, "Humbert de Molard (1800-1874)" for more information.
