Paper negative, 7.28 x 9.25 in. (185 x 235 mm), 1848c/1848c, unmounted. #12315. A very important and classic paper negative by Humbert de Molard (occasionally spelt Mollard), a pioneer of French photography whose photographic works are some of the most difficult to find. Any work by this photographer outside of institutions is exceedingly rare. The two hunters have their muskets and a dead rabbit, as well as a flask on the steps. See: Prestige de La Photo, Nov. 1978, "Humbert de Molard (1800-1874)" for more information.
