Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history
Coverpage: just for the record/keepsake (all copies may be now soldout?, but for an introduction view at: http://www.an-saxim.com/catalogue3.htm#4kings ).
Pictures of helmets: Top one found at Bentley Grange, Derbyshire. The remains and a replica are in a Sheffield Museum. Bottom left is a replica of the Sutton Hoo one, i.e., found there in Suffolk. Bottom right is in much better condition and is a reconstruction of the orginal one, found in York, Yorkshire.- There is another helmet picture inside the book, that of the Pioneer helmet found in Northamtonshire. The boar/hog on the top of it is similar to the Bentley Grange one. Any plumage coming out of the top is conjectural though. (Pictures: reproduction copyright granted).
