The Watergate, Edinburgh c.1858

View of the Watergate, a area at the foot of the High Street, near Holyrood Palace. Attributed to Thomas Vernon Begbie (1840-1915). This is a fully retouched image I made after my own print, made before 1990 from the stereo pair now in the Cavaye Collection in the City Art Centre, Edinburgh. It was published, in its original condition, as Pl. 37 in Thomas Begbie's Edinburgh: A Mid Victorian Portrait (Edinburgh 1992).
