Salt print from paper negative, 5-3/4 x 3-3/4 in. (146 x 95 mm), 1845c/1845c, on original mount. #12432
Initials RA stamped in bottom right corner of the mount recto. A very rich print in fine condition. This was one of a group of studies that was used for Hill's painting "Edinburgh from the Castle, 1847". See: Sara Stevenson, David Octavius and Robert Adamson (National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh, 1981), p.86 for slight variants of this image.
