  • Mug-shot of an itinerant labourer who was convicted of stealing another labourer's lunch. When before the magistrates he pleaded that the reason he stole was because he was hungry. Sentenced to six month's hard labour. Taken 1872. This photo is taken from a large collection of mugshots (some of young children) held by the Cambridgeshire Police Authority at their headquarters at Huntingdon.
