"Do I take it from the lack of response that nobody accepts my view? Aside to this - isn't it fascinating that the "ghostly" outline of a number of people is, because of the time exposure, clearly visible against the churchyard…"

Charles Hankins, shepherd, of Stoke Doyle, Northampton-shire;. his son, also called John Hankins (1817-1890), became estate bailiff for the Earls of Carysfort at Elton Hall, Huntingdonshire.

ANSWER TO A JOHN MOYER HEATHCOTE (1852) PHOTO.

Whilst researching for my proposed book on "Cuthbert Bede" I just happened to try John Moyer Heathcote on the 'net (although I have already a substantial amount of information on him; he was a friend of "Bede" whilst the latter was curate of the combined parishes of Holme-with-Glatton 1850-54) - and up popped, under the British Photographic History site, a quite indistinct photograph by JMH taken c.1852, which the blogger (or anybody else) had no knowledge of its locality - thinking it might be…See More

"This photo is definitely of All Saints' Church at Elton, Cambridgeshire (formerly Huntingdonshire). I have a postcard (1912) which was taken from almost the same angle. I have a print of the watermill at Elton which JMH must have photographed…"
