Death of Dom Angelico Surchamp on 1 March 2018

Many will not have heard of Dom Angelico Surchamp, because his name did not appear in the credits for his photographs. He was a monk at the abbey of La Pierre-qui-vire in Burgundy. He was the moving spirit behind the Zodiaque series of books on Romanesque, which on any measure is the largest collection of published photographs of Romanesque architecture and sculpture.
