Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history

A project organised by the University of St Andrews, 'Developing Photopoetry brings together more than 60 photographically illustrated poetry books from 1856-1921, spanning more than half a century of interactions between poets and photographers from both Britain and America.

"By digitising and gathering these books into a single collection for the first time, this portal makes it possible to trace the development of themes, techniques and collaborative practices inherent to the "photopoetry" genre.

"The photopoetry holdings of the University of St Andrews Library represent the largest dedicated collection of its kind in the UK, and this website (a collaborative project between the Library's Digital Humanities team and the University's Schools of English and Computer Science) aims to provide new and extensive access to this under-researched area."
