Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history

This is a fascinating tin type I came across in a second hand shop in Haddington, East Lothian a few years ago. The two sons are interesting as they both wear military type headgear - a glengarry and what appears to be a sailor's hat, although there is no insignia. The question is - are they Scottish or just patriotic? It's in remarkable condition as it was in a pretty battered case with a glass cover.
