World-renowned as a guitarist and singer with the legendary band Queen, Brian May is less well-known for his passion for stereoscopic or 3D photography. In this evening talk, May and historian Elena Vidal discuss their recent project to uncover the idyllic life of an 1850s Oxfordshire village – now known to be Hinton Waldrist near Farringdon - through a forgotten photographic series by the pioneering stereographer T.R. Williams. The authors also discuss the enigmatic Williams himself, who appears Hitchcock-esque in some photographs, and the challenge of bringing together these exquisite images for the first time in glorious 3D.
The cost of the ticket is £18, including wine reception and book signing
