Event Description

An exhibition of Charlotte Cory's photomelangerie - creating a portrait of the lives of the Brontes.  it is one of the tragedies of literary history that although the Bronte sisters lived into the photographic age there are no undisputed likenesses of them.  This exhibition comes to London direct from the Bronte Parsonage at Haworth, Yorkshire where it was on show, Oct - Dec 2013 as part of their Contemporary Arts Programme - and proved very controversial amongst die hard Bronte fans who took exception to the sheer audacity of the exercise.  Others loved the unusual literary interpretation and Radio 3 featured the show in their surreal edition of The Verb before Christmas.
