Event Description

Composed of just over 100 photographs, this exhibition celebrates the exceptional contribution that American photographers made to the history of art in the 20th century. Made from 1900-1950, these photographs represent an extraordinary fertile period in photography’s evolution. It includes stunning works by Edward Steichen, Clarence White, Paul Strand, Walker Evans, Margaret Bourke-White, Dorothea Lange, Berenice Abbott, Lisette Model, Weegee and the members of New York’s Photo League.Organized by the National Gallery of Canada.
