Francis Frith UK Stereoviews 1-299

Before embarking to the Middle East to take his remarkable series of stereoscopic views, in 1856 Francis Frith toured the UK perfecting his photographic technique. I am attempting to collect these early views and put together a catalogue of titles. I have a partial list by Treadwell, but was wondering if Negretti & Zambra may have published a list and if anyone has access to it. I have seen a NZ list from 1859 but it does not include Frith's UK views. If anyone has such views for sale please get in touch. Thanks. Peter Blair

      HI Caroline,

      I have not yet seen any Frith early stereoviews of Finchale Abbey. He scatched Frith and a number on the negatives, so if they were Frith they should be readily identifiable.

      I am afraid that I can not help you on this but will pass on your interest to a freind who collects views of England (I am more a Scottish expert) who might have some ideas.
