Ross Lens

Hi

Some of you may be aware that I'm shooting contemporary rock climbing in the Lake DIstrict using a camera previously owned and used by the Abraham Brothers ( There has been a news item about it) but more here -

http://www.georgefisher.co.uk/blogs/brand-blog/2016-07-29-an-introduction-to-instanto-outdoors/

The camera is an Underwood Instanto and I am using 10x12 inch Ilford FP4.  There's  a reasonable amount of information available regarding Underwood cameras.

However I'm trying to find out a bit more about the lens:

Ross No 2

No 22923

18in

Any help information would be appreciated.

  • Thanks Richard - much appreciated

  • This from advertisement pages in  Thomas Sutton, The Calotype, 1855. OK. I see it is an 18 inch lens so this may not be the same lens which is here listed as a 6 inch lens.

    I'll keep checking.
