I have discovered yet another 19thC photographer in my family, this time on my Father's side and operating from the Old Kent Road area. I have found one of two examples of his CDV's but would welcome any further information?

New Tintype find of 1894 wedding - Frank Walton - Photographer (Briggate Leeds).

1894 seems pretty late for a tintype, but I am sure this show my 3 x Great Uncle Frank Walton's second wedding to Mary Bailey in Halifax in March 1894. Its certainly a great photo in terms of resolution and we know 4 of the 5 people in the photo.

Research: Bermondsey - the earliest photographic images - 1840-1860

I am researching a number of different aspects of mid 19th century Bermondsey (Southwark, South London), but when I search for early photographs of the parish, usually the images that I find in most local history or photographic collections are circa 1890-1930. I realise that Bermondsey was a pretty unappetising place for photographs in the 1840's, 1850's and 1860's and that any photographs may have been taken to highlight the plight of the poor or the workers in the predominant industry of…
