  • Except, that at auctions 'vultures' congregate to gobble up for a song, or rather a screech, sale's pickings - to then regurgitate their gobblings onto profitable resale opportunities. One doubts 'collectors' of the note of Mervyn will be crowding into the sales room to buy up Mervyn's hoard with a view to 'doing a Mervyn' all over again.

  • Bobbie - Mervyn expressed a wish to see his collection dispersed so that other collectors or institutions could acquire parts. As the catalogue states: 'it was always Mervyn’s wish that his Collection should be sold at auction, so that others would have the same joy of showing and/or collecting the slides, as he had himself enjoyed over many years.'

  • Makes yer sick don't it to see another of someone's amazing lifelong obsessional collection 'smashed up' by a gavel?
