Travelling Light photo publishers

Hello - is anyone able to tell me more about the Travelling Light publishing group? collective? active in London during the 1980s? I know that Heather Forbes and Peter Turner were part of the group but does anyone know who else was? Paul Cox? A quick interent search has turned up the following books published by the group:

Dear Lissa

I worked with Travelling Light on my book Battle. Passchendaele, 1917, which was published in 1981.  I do have a copy of their sales catalogue Spring & Summer 1982 that lists approaching 100 books that they published. The ranger of books included books by American photographers like Harry Callahan, Ralph Gibson, Lee Friedlander and Wendy Ewald, also books featuring writers like John Szarkowski and Jane Livingstone. They published a range of what they called ‘theory’ books covering, the nude, landscape and fashion.

 Their office was in Battersea, I always got the impression that they shared the office with the frames, and it seemed to me that it was a separate business. My relationship with publisher was difficult, may be partly due that they went into bankruptcy, but they were other issues of how they worked.

Lew Ambler, who did archival matt cutting and framing was also Travelling Light, but I am not sure if it was directly related to the publishing arm. Certainly Pete Turner and Heather Forbes who also were the editors of Creative Camera, before they returned to New Zealamnd were the main people.Maybe archives of Creative Camera would have more information?

Hi, Lissa. Travelling Light was founded in 1977 and went into liquidation in 1982. The founders: Pete Turner, Heather Forbes and Michael Blake (who left in 1979). I will email you a summary of its activities.  It looks like the company had re-emerged by 1988.
