William England Stereoviews and more

In an Adelaide, South Australia antique store over the weekend I was browsing their boxes of early British stereo images.

I collect images by Roger Fenton and Francis Bedford in particular. However on this occasion I came across 4 images from a series "Views of Sandringham" (by Command of HRH Prince of Wales)  (Numbers10,11,15,19,)  I understand that these are by William England .  I spent a lot of time over the weekend researching him and have ordered "An American Journey. The Photography of William England" and discovered the research by Gerlind-Anicia Lorch and comments by others on this forum.

I would  appreciate confirming that they are indeed by William England and how many more I need to find and pointers to more information..

I find the attached a stunning image...

Hoping for some interesting comments.

    Hello Stephen

I believe the Sandringham series is by William England , London Stereoscopic Co didn't credit their photographers , but i am pretty sure this is one of the last jobs William England did for them before going on his own . You have slightly foxed me by saying you had no 19 , but you haven't illustrated it . I think there are 15 in the series , as that is all i have found , however there are quite a number of variants and some found with no number .

I have nos 1-15 , plus variants , if you would like scans please send your email address

    Hello,

I'm Muriel Morris, granddaughter of Muriel Phyllis England.  William England is my Great Grandfather.  I worked with Gerlind-Anika helping her with the genealogy of the England family, and she might be able to give you more information.  The only reference I have to "Views of Sandringham" (including an illustration of #15) is in Peter Blair's Views of Switzerland: a collector's catalogue, although the reference is fleeting and the book is, as it says, about the Views of Switzerland.  Another book, equally unhelpful for what you want is William England (1816-1896) Des 1863, Son Exploration Photographique de la Suisse by Gerard Bourgarel. American Journey is a lovely book, but also does not deal with any photography by England in England,

I hadn't seen the View that you included, so thank you!
