Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history
My Father Adam Kreb and his brother Reinhold Kreb were reunited with my grandfather Johannes June 7 1947 after WWII in Berlin Johannesstift. The Picture Post covered the story in an issue 1947. There is a short story and picture posted online at http://www.zeitgut.com/Leseecke/mutterseelenallein.htm they are the bottom picture. It is a very interesting story.
We are looking for a copy of the original publication. Can anyone direct me to where I can start looking? Thank you.

Permalink Reply by S Kreb on April 15, 2010 at 18:07 The Vintage Magazine Shop in Brewer Street, London, may be worth a try, or the Ephemera Society holds regular fairs in London and it might be worth visiting and asking some of the dealers there.

You could try The Book Palace. The last time I talked to them they had a collection of Picture Post. Website http://www.bookpalace.com/index.htm
Or to get to the Picture Post page:

Permalink Reply by Angela Murphy on October 5, 2011 at 2:22 hi. i dont know if you are still watching this post but I wondered if you have written to the Hulton Picture Library (part of Getty Images) in case you can get copies of the original photographs taken for the story. Most of the Picture Post archives have still not been digitised but researchers will look in the filing cabinets for you.
Permalink Reply by Sarah McDonald on October 5, 2011 at 9:43 Hi - as curator of the Hulton Picture Library I can confirm the story was published on 7th July and photos shot by staffer Kurt Hutton. However we do not offer copies of the magazine for sale. All of theoutlets already suggested are good and ebay is an obvious source too.
If you'd like to order prints from the story please contact our gallery - http://www.gettyimagesgallery.co.uk/- and we help on that.
Good luck, Sarah
Permalink Reply by James Morley on October 10, 2011 at 11:49 As Sarah has commented, the very first thing I'd do is try eBay. I'd suggest searching a little broader than the specific date as people don't always add proper descriptions, so something like "Picture Post 1947", and make sure you check the "Worldwide" option.
For example this one is currently on offer, which claims to be published 5 July (I assume it as a special?) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JULY-1947-PICTURE-POST-PLAN-EUROPE-MAGAZI...
Crucially, once you've done this if you are registered and logged in you can save it and set email alerts when matching items are added.
