I'm writing a book about the stereoscopic photograpic legacy of Dr Reginald Grove who was President of the Stereoscopic Society until his death in 1948; this photograph was taken in the 1930's in probably Austria or Bavaria. Can anyone identify the uniform worn by this elderly man with the special belt which can just be seen under his waiscoat?

Additionally, if any member has any stereos taken by him, please contact me.

Many Thanks,

  • Thank you Michael. I was aware of this and have also looked at the RPS Exhibition Catologues for the period. My grandfather had a large number of entries, most of which I've been able to trace. But sadly, not all.

  • Hello... Not specifically related to your enquiry but I can confirm that Dr W R Grove was a member of the Royal Photographic Society from 1933 until his death. His address was recorded as St Ives, Huntingdonshire.
