Photographic dealer called "Pharaoh"

Looking through my grandfather's accounts I see he bought a reflex camera from "Pharaoh" - presumably a dealer or shop. He lived near London so that's probably where the shop was. He paid £18-15-8 on May 25th 1918. The account entry is just "Pharaoh Reflex Camera", so no data on what make it was, or even whether new or second-hand. There is no Pharaoh in the 1919 BJA ads. At that point in his life he seems to have owned an N&G Special B, and had previously (and perhaps still) had a Shew 5x4 reflex. Any leads welcome!

  • Hi, John. There was a Mr H C Pharoah who was a writer for Photography magazine around 1906-1910.  He was also attending the Jonathan Fallowfield annual dinner a few times and the Photographic Convention during this period.

    Not sure if that helps.
