Dear all,
as a journalist, photographer and writer based in Germany I'm currently working on a book project and looking for more informations about my grandma's best friend from childhood times.
Herbert Emil Zerkowski, born 27.2.1909 at Berlin, emigrated to London/UK. He was married to Elvira Willa Gay (maiden name, designer) and worked as a photographer.
After learning in the early 1950s that his siblings and their families were murdered at Auschwitz and Sobibor extermination camps, he changed his name to
Herbert Kenneth Paul.
Last known adress was 109 Paramount Court, University Street W.C., London - date of death is Oct. 18, 1968.
Herbert Kenneth Paul was a member of the RPS/Royal Photographic Society (confirmed by Dr. Michael Pritchard - many thanks for the information!)
I'm now looking for any biographical informations about Herbert Kenneth Paul, as well as a body of work or photographs and maybe a portrait.
During my research I found a undated photo at myHeritage, which might show Herbert Kenneth Paul around 1955 (not confirmed, still to be identified).
Thank you in advance for any potential information!
Kind regards
Heike Rost
