Recently a photograph by the British photographer H.F. Davis titled "The Flood" came into my possession. I have been unable to find any biographical information about him. I have only found the following information:
"This is an offbeat period piece, a fine art black and white photograph from 1934 of a man crossing a stretch of floodwater with the help of two chairs after a storm caused flooding in The Mall of London, England."
"H. F. Davis belonged to the humanist photography art style, a style that was humorous, bizarre, and dreamlike. He mainly worked during World War I and the Roaring Twenties period."
