Hello everyone,
Hoping someone out there might have some basic biographical info on photographer W.F. Davidson, active during the 1970s and 1980s, mostly doing landscape photography.
He was the photographer for the "Country Life" picture book series that featured titles on Scotland, Britain, and the Lake District.

I've just found your message after idly googling my Uncle Billy, to see if any trace remained of him online.
W.F.Davidson was my mother's cousin and was a remarkable man. I've just joined the BPH in order to offer you any information you want. I think his work in photography, geology and natural history should be much more widely known.
He lived his whole life in Penrith. Not sure if he was born there or Carlisle - I'm guessing around 1910 as he was older than my mother. Died in a Penrith nursing home some time in the 80s or early 90s.
