I think your project sounds superb, really great idea. I am very familiar with the people of India publication and have some of the photos here for sale.
For this particular show there are very few portraits i am afraid. It is a very basic show aimed at entering the market there. Photography as a collectable item is still very new in India but i am confident this will change.
I am in the process of accumulating good Indian portraits for a French publication so if you see any 19th century Indian portraits and Maharajas for sale i am very interested.
You should pass by the gallery and pick up a catalogue of mine, Face to Face, many portraits in there.
If this is a little out of the way in regards to British Historical Photography i can understand however for me it is very British in the sense that this is India when we were there.
Hi, Jason. These are interesting photographs but unless I am missing something they're a bit off subject from British photographic history...I'm happy to approve them if you can tell me what the historical perspective is...
