  • Wow - looks like we both had a good eye on picking it out. Yes, I suspect the early Middle East photos would have been the attraction. Can you share the scan (to me direct?) I'd be interested to see it as a whole. 

  • I was thinking of bidding on this lot (and got a scan of the whole album from the auctioneer) but I also had a feeling that it would go well beyond what I was prepared to pay. I wasn't wrong. It went for GBP 135,000 before buyer's premium/fees of at least 30%, including VAT. I presume it was the early salt prints of Egypt that caused this extraordinary result. Any other views?
