Roddy Simpson, photographer and University of Glasgow honorary research fellow in the school of culture and creative arts has published a blog on Elizabeth Johnston Hall (1822-1901). Hall was one of the most famous photographed Scottish women because of the image of her produced in the mid-1840s by the pioneering Scottish partnership of David Octavius Hill (1802-70) and Robert Adamson.
