Doreen Spooner (1928–21 April 2019), the first woman to work as a staff photographer on a Fleet Street newspaper, has died aged 91 years. She had a forty-year career, mostly on the Daily Mirror newspaper. She photographed Mandy Rice Davies and Christine Keeler in a London pub and captured Neil Kinnock falling in to the sea in Bright. She was a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and a former chair of its Visual Journalism Panel.
