The BFI Reuben Library holds a wealth of books, journals, and catalogues relating to early cinema. Two BFI staff in the field – Bryony Dixon (Curator of Silent Film) and Dr Ulrich Ruedel (Conservation Technology Manager) – bring things up to date, and offer a unique insight into the restoration of early colour film in an era of digital imaging. They will also introduce the science of film preservation, and look at the opportunities of programming the restored films.
