12201223462?profile=originalThe second and final phase of the V&A's Photography Centre is now complete and ready for its public unveiling on Thursday, 25 May 2023, At an opening event this evening V&A Director Tristram Hunt and the leading curator Marta Weiss explained the thinking behind the Centre and acknowledged the support of donors and photographers.

Below are a few photographs of the new spaces that compliment and extend the existing galleries.

  • Spent a day in the National Arts Library in the V&A and walked through the Photography Centre.

    I agree - lovely big space. I particularly like the fact that the book collection is on view in the Kusuma Gallery. All these books look accessible via the NAL. 

    BTW, I would recommend the Arts Library as a great research resource.

  • Early days, but a little underwhelmed by the opening exhibits. Lovely big space, so can only get better! Will report back when next visit as we go to the V&A quite a lot.
