Hello. A group of us in Australia are trying to work out the identity of this Aboriginal girl, location in Australia, date of this tin type, photographer/studio ...  - all thoughts/information very welcome.

Hi Julie, since this a gem tintype, it was likely produced between 1879 and 1885 when they were most popular. They were produced throughout Australia, in the major cities but also in a surprising number of country towns, usually by itinerant operators. Cheers! Marcel Safier, Brisbane.
