Today's Google doodle celebrates Anna Atkins' 216th birthday. Atkins was a botanist and created a series of cyanotypes of ferns other specimens. She is considered the first person to publish a book illustrated with photographic images. Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Atkins

I am a member of the Tonbridge Camera Club, and this Friday 20/3 we shall be hosting the 49th Annual Photography Exhibition in Tonbridge Castle, to be opened officially by the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Councillor Mrs Sasha Luck.

Some examples by club members of cyanotype and other historical printing methods will be on display. The legacy of one of the early Photography Pioneers lives on!
