Job: Project Cataloguer Royal Photographic Society Collection

As the V&A prepares to make the RPS Collection accessible through the V&A study rooms and collections website, we have an exciting opportunity for a cataloguer for the collection. This fixed term position will run until end of March 2018 in the first instance to prepare documentation. The project will ensure the widest possible access to this important resource, both online via the V&A's 'Search the Collections' site and via the Prints and Drawings Reading Room.

Thanks, Michael, for the clarification.

Yes, that is correct, Peter. I am not sure what criteria the V&A applies to making positions open externally or internally but it seemed appropriate to publicise it. 'Internal' does also mean it is open to museum volunteers.  Perhaps, too, they might consider opening it up to a wider pool of suitable applicants...

Thank you  Michael for highlighting this very interesting job opportunity. I note however from consulting details of the job on the V&A's website (link in your post) that this appears to be a position that only a candidate internal to the V&A can apply for, unless I have misunderstood the further details. If it is true that it is in effect not open to the many potential non-V&A candidates this seems a very great shame as it greatly diminishes what I am sure would be the large pool of well-qualified candidates that might apply for it.
