Information and discussion on all aspects of British photographic history
From the architectural record and romance of Gertrude Bell to ground-breaking documentary images by Captain William Shakespear and Harry St. John Philby, this showcase provides an introduction to the work of early British photographers in the Middle East; documenting people and places which have since undergone significant change.
Led by their Collection team, this showcase offers a number of opportunities to learn more about and see highlights of the Society's unique Collections. The first of the two workshops will be held this coming Monday 30th April 2012, and details of the second one can be found here.
