      Dear Roger,

we have been in touch a couple of years ago when we were both bidding on Ebay on photos of Alvin Langdon Coburn. In the meantime I published a book with his writings on photography. Unfotunately I couldn't find you email-address, so I will have a try via the BPH-website.

Actually I am working on a book on Rejlander & Victorian photography & I was wondering if you could help me concerning some quite specialised questions. For example I couldn't find any CDV photos from his studio in Wolverhampton and only one single stereo photo (which is part of the Darwin collection). Do you have any idea where I could find more ? And in the thesis of DiGiuglio (if I rember it well) she is mentioning that you told her about an album with a copy of "The Two Ways of Life". Do you have the references of this album (whch is part of the Braford collection)?

In the book on Rejlander there will be an edition of his writings on photography (unfortunately in German). If you are interested I could send you the documents of the English texts (some scans, some PDFs.).

And maybe you have more ideas where I could find interesting documents (including letters, manuscripts etc.) on Rejlander? That would be simply fantastic!

      All the best,

      Bernd

P.S:: Your website on British Photographic Exhibitions is fantastic & very helpful!

Roger, Thank you so much for looking into Captain Sweet for me (at Mike Ware's request). If it's helpful, Sweet's background is available at captainsweet.com.au . He was an amateur when he left England for Australia in 1863. The only work of his I would really expect to have found its way into public collections are ther albums of views he sent to world fairs and perhaps his images of Aborigines. If you do come accross him I'd be delighted! Thanks. Karen
