A bit of a long shot but Ian Trumble, Curator of Archaeology, Egyptology and World Cultures, Bolton Library and Museum Services, would like to know of the whereabouts of any photographs taken by the egyptologist Annie Barlow, in particular any photographs taken on her visits to Egypt. Although Annie Barlow, in her role as Honorary Local Secretary for Bolton of the Egypt Exploration Fund, was instrumental in establishing the extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts at Bolton Museum, the largest collection of Egyptology of any local authority museum in the UK, her photographic archive has disappeared, not to say it hasn't survived though. So, with fingers crossed, we are issuing this appeal for information.
