Auction: Peter Henry Emerson

Bonhams will be holding an auction of photographs on Tuesday 16th November which will contain a key group of 19th century platinum prints on the Norfolk Broads by British artist, anthropologist, scientist and historian, Peter Henry Emerson, including 'Gathering Water-Lilies', 1886 (estimate £10,000 - £15,000).

These prints - revered by collectors for the depth of tone in the final image - are taken from Emerson's photo album 'Life and Landscape on the Norfolf Broads' published in the 1880s.
